What robotstester.com stores, how long it keeps it, and how to delete it.
The robots.txt tools
When you enter a website in the checker, tester, validator or generator, our server fetches that site's robots.txt and shows you the result. We don't save the sites you check or the files you paste.
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Like most websites, our host, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
The latest copy of each watched site's robots.txt, and a history of its changes, kept for a year.
A record of the emails we send, kept for 2 days so we stay within our sending limit.
To stop abuse of the forms, a scrambled form of your IP address and email that can't be turned back into either, kept for 2 days.
Requests that aren't confirmed within 48 hours are deleted. Alerts are sent from alerts@robotstester.com through Hostinger's email service. We never share your address or use it for anything except the alerts you asked for.
Deleting your data
Every alert email has an unsubscribe link. Using it deletes your address, the sites you watch and their history at once. You can also email alerts@robotstester.com and we'll delete them for you.
